Choose a Wix CMS target collection

Problem

QuillDock needs one Wix CMS collection to publish into before mapping and preflight can continue. You can either choose an existing collection or use Advanced setup to create one new collection from the saved source schema when the current source exposes supported fields.

Operators setting up QuillDock for the first time or reselecting a target after collection changes.

What you will see

• Configuration / Target lists the collections QuillDock can currently read from Wix CMS
• QuillDock keeps existing collection selection as the primary path
• Advanced setup can create one new collection from the current saved source schema using the currently supported field classes in this launch phase
• Continue stays focused on the selected collection, or Create collection and continue appears when Advanced setup is available

Likely causes

• no Wix CMS collections were returned for the current site
• the previously selected collection was removed or renamed
• collection verification could not be completed
• the saved source schema is not readable yet
• the saved source only exposes deferred field classes that QuillDock cannot bootstrap in the current phase
• the requested collection name already exists in Wix CMS
• Wix CMS or the site code editor is not enabled on the site yet
• QuillDock created the collection in Wix, but could not finish saving it as the active target automatically

Step-by-step resolution

1. Open Configuration / Target in QuillDock.
2. Review the list of available Wix CMS collections.
3. If the collection already exists, choose it and select Continue.
4. If the collection does not exist yet, open Advanced setup.
5. Review the supported source fields QuillDock offers for bootstrap. Leave deferred fields out of scope for now.
6. Confirm the collection name, then select Create collection and continue.
7. If QuillDock says the collection was created but not selected automatically, choose that created collection from the existing list and continue.

If it still does not work

• Refresh the collection list.
• Confirm the collection still exists in Wix CMS for the same site.
• Rename the new collection if Wix says the name already exists.
• Make sure the site has Wix CMS and the code editor enabled before retrying Advanced setup.
• Choose the created collection from the existing list if QuillDock reports a partial save after bootstrap.

When to contact support

Contact support if QuillDock cannot find any collections for the site, if the saved target keeps showing as missing, if bootstrap stays blocked even though the source schema is readable, or if QuillDock says the collection was created but still cannot finish saving the target after you retry.
